Life In Full Consciousness

A spontaneous talk given at
a meditation class

We have spent the past seven weeks focusing on what is fundamental to us, on how to live according to who we fundamentally are, and thus live effectively, live in reality, live consciously and thereby affect our inner experience of daily life and life as a whole. Thus we imbue our relationships with a foundation of reality as opposed to illusion and falsity; we positively affect our time and effort spent at work, our professional life, and our play–all moments, all activities and endeavors of our lives.

You have learned to look at “Who am I really, and what am I in this life for?” You would think these are fundamental, even obvious questions. Yet these pragmatic questions are not often asked in our society. You have recognized the fundamental practicality of a life dedicated to the reality of the Being that you are. You have learned that if your life is not dedicated to who you really are, you are missing out on your own life, because it is then dedicated to someone you are not.

Is that possible, to dedicate your life to a mistaken idea of yourself? Yes! What is the result; what do you get from such a life? Frustration and disappointment. You work hard and yet the experience passes you by: you are left out.
